Week 1 in Fitness

It’s taken me a long time to get back to running, but I’ve finally managed it. I’m in my second week of running and I’ve already started to see some nice gains. I’m almost 4kg down from my starting weight 2 weeks ago. I also started my low carb diet again. I’m making my own lunches and eating out a lot less. No sodas, no processed foods, no fast food, etc.

In my first week, I went out on 3 runs. I added lots of klicks to this base thanks to brisk walks that I complete twice daily with Spike in tow.

5.43 km in 36:19 average pace 6:41 per km
5.77 km in 47:19 average pace 7:20 per km
4.74 km in 36:37 average pace 7:44 per km

I’ve walked another 14:26km at an average pace of 9-11:00 per km.

All in all, I’m feeling pretty good even though I’m quite sore. However, tonight I ran 6.16km in 47:11 at an average pace of 7:40 per km. I’m still taking some breaks, but they are shorter than beforehand hopefully in a couple of weeks, I’ll be able to run once again without any of them.
