How I Got My 2nd Dose of AZ

It was about time for me to get my 2nd dose. We were told that we could register our appointments starting last week. My 1st dose was on 8/28, 2 weeks after the rest of my coworkers. For what reason, I don’t know. Probably because I’m younger.

I didn’t get a text message or notification of any kind, so I tried the system to see if I could book an appointment. Strangely enough, it said that my booking period was the day before. I told the admin staff about it. I was kind of getting annoyed because I wanted to get the second dose ASAP.

At around 5pm, I got a message from work telling me to go to a local gynecologist to get my shot before 7pm. I knew that vaccines had been distributed to smaller clinics in an effort to stop people from going to hospitals and clogging them up. Also, that same morning, we had gotten a notification telling us that appointments were no longer needed for 2nd doses.

So I showed up at 5:30pm. Two old ladies, who were volunteers, asked me if I was on the list. I said it was my 2nd dose. They gave me a form to fill in, and then I waited for 1 minute before I got my shot. I asked the doc to write in the lot number of my vaccine. I know it’s needed for international travel. It took a while, because he was pretty old lol. We got it done, then I went home.

I was pretty grumpy that night, and took a 3-hour nap the following day. Overall, it wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t as bad as the 1st dose.
