Just like almost everyone in the technology world and beyond, I spent time watching the liveblog of the Apple Watch event a few days ago. First things first, the new 12″ MacBook looks great. It fits in great with the current product line, and it will be a great replacement for my MacBook Pro 17, when combined with an iMac 27 Retina.

The Butler Dock Empties Your Pockets
Everyone needs a place to stow the stuff that fills their pockets. As for myself, I tend to leave my keys in my pockets at all times, because I’ve forgotten them before, my smartphone is near me most of the day, and I usually keep my wallet on a cupboard in my bedroom. However, the Butler looks like a good centralized location for all of your stuff so you don’t lose track of it.

Cellular iPad Mini to Hit China January 18
Until I actually played a bit with an iPad Mini, I could see no reason why anyone would want to own an iPad and an iPad Mini at the same time. Though once I saw one up close, I like the small form factor, and lightweight, especially when you compare it side-by-side, to the iPad.

Apple to Pay Swiss $21 Million for Copying Clock Design in iOS
I’ve always liked using the clock applications on my smartphone. You never really think about the design of the clock faces, but apparently they can be copyrighted works. Recently, Apple was sued for copying the Swiss Federal Railway’s clock design in iOS.

There are quite a few people using laptops as their main machines these days. Though I still use a desktop PC for a lot of my computing tasks, I have set up a MacBook Pro 17 as an ancillary workstation with an external screen. Monitors tend to be quite large, and finding the optimal placement for your laptop can be problematic. I like this solution because it actually hides your laptop behind your monitor.
