Volkswagen Microbus Meets AT-AT: Camper Van Hothoven

I can already see a storyline evolving in my mind of a poor, lonesome AT-AT Imperial Walker on the run from those pesky rebels, deciding to make babies with a Volkswagen bus and start a family.

Seen in a bus, sounds pretty racist to me.

Man Decapitated On Greyhound Bus

Somewhere between Edmonton and Winnipeg, a man was decapitated on a Greyhound bus. In a most bizarre and gruesome incident, an 18 year old man was repeatedly stabbed in the throat while he was listening to music by a 40 year old assailant. He was then decapitated. His assailant brought the head to the front of the bus, then went back to continue hacking at the body. The man has yet to reveal his motives.

Taiwan Here I Come

My flights are booked and I arrive on Saturday in Taiwan.

It’s going to be a hectic few days in order to prepare everything, but I’m already almost set.

I’m not sure if I will try out couchsurfing or not. I’ve tried contacting a guy and we’ll see what happens. If I can’t set it up in time, I’ll have to leave in the early hours of Wednesday morning, around 3AM most likely. That way, I’m sure to arrive at 8AM to the TECO office in Ottawa.

I barely slept last night because I my flights weren’t confirmed and I hadn’t yet spoken to my boss in detail about my upcoming departure. Turns out that my flights were confirmed and my boss was really nice and guaranteed me a job when I come back in late August.

My wife has already found me a few little jobs in Taiwan, which is pretty sweet. I’ve sent out a few CVs, but I’m looking for sub work. Or full time employment during the summer.

Tomorrow, I’ll see if I can find a place on Allo-Stop. I doubt that it will work out. Most likely, I’ll use the bus and arrive in Ottawa at around 8PM.

If Couchsurfing doesn’t pan out, I’ll leave early Wednesday morning.

Writing On The Bus

Today, I saw a girl writing in a notebook on the bus. She was writing quickly and was able to write at least two pages. The book was the size of my new Moleskine watercolor notebook, except the right way around. She was a tall girl, in her early twenties. A university student. She reminded me of a volleyball player. She had short light brown hair with blond highlights. She had bluish eyes.

I wondered what she was writing. I almost asked her, but I was on my way to teach a class and didn’t have time to socialize. I’d never write on the bus. I enjoy writing and have been practicing cursive writing. I’ve gotten interested in typography and calligraphy. So when I write, I try to make the letters as perfect as I can. That is impossible on a moving bus.

Zooomr is down again, so I’ll post photos of my most recent work in my Moleskine in the coming days.

15 CM

I woke up this morning. Within moments, I got a call from my wife. I was getting ready to go to school. I started drinking my tea while I was talking to her.

It was snowing.

More Buses Near The Storytree

One time I was coming home from school. I didn’t notice that I got onto the wrong bus. This bus brought me into the middle of the city. I didn’t know what to do and got off almost at the end of the line. I managed to figure out where I was. I don’t really know how I did this.

A Bus Nearing The Storytree

I used to take the bus in France when I was younger. I must have been about 8 when I started taking public transportation to my international school in Strasbourg. I wasn’t the only child on the bus.

I remember once that a bum got onto the bus. In France at the time, you had to punch your ticket yourself. Controllers would patrol the buses to inspect your tickets. Kind of like a train. The bum was told by anther passenger that he needed to punch his ticket. The bum happily took out a piece of paper and punched it. He smiled happily when he left the bus. I found that funny.
