Robot USB Hub: No Transformer But Still Cooler than Yours

USB hubs can be slightly boring, especially when you go through them quickly. It’s one of those pieces of hardware that easily breaks down due to either cheap construction, the constant plugging and unplugging of devices, or both. That being said, there’s no reason why you can’t have fun the next time you replace yours. Here’s a Robot USB Hub that might make you chuckle a bit while you plug in your peripherals.

The 2,000 Foot Hot Wheels Track

An enterprising dad constructed this incredible Hot Wheels track, that spans over 2,000 feet. It goes through an entire house, down the street, and over a hot tub. I don’t know how long it was up, but it sure looked cool.

Q-14 Reconnaissance Robot: And it Was All Yellow…

The Q-14 Reconnaissance Robot was built by John Neiner for Starship Modeler’s Yellow contest way back in 2007, but it’s still just as cool as the day it was created. The robot definitely looks like an interesting addition to any modern family, wanting a bit of help with aliens and farming in the future.

LEGO Robot Helps Test iPad Apps, Promises Not to Make Any In-App Purchases

Developers, what do you do when you don’t feel like testing your apps yourself? You built a LEGO Mindstorms robot to do the job for you. That’s basically what researchers and developers at the Pheromone Lab did recently. Their LEGO robot helped them test an app by taking 10,000 photos with it.

Irrational Numbers Clock is Perfectly Rational (If You’re a Mathematician)

The Irrational Numbers Clock is slightly more complicated that the Unit Circle Radian Wall Clock. Also, the fact that it looks like a blackboard has a certain scholarly appeal. While I am a mathematician, anyone with high-school math should be able to read this clock. That’s not because they’ll know what all these irrational numbers are, it’s just that all you just need to do is look at the position of the hands to figure out the time.

Thanko Fanbrella: Cheaper and Cooler

The first time I heard about fanbrellas was a short while ago, and I guess they make sense in very humid and wet climates. It didn’t take Thanko long to announce their version of the Fanbrella. Even though it’s cheaper, it actually looks somewhat sturdier than the one we mentioned before.

USB Necktie Fan Makes Geeks Cooler

I haven’t worn a tie regularly in years. There’s something extremely uncomfortable when something is squeezing your neck like that. Also, they are a nightmare to wear when it gets hot. However, I do wear one from time to time when I need to. Thankfully, I’ll be able to keep cool with this incredibly tacky new necktie fan.
