There are plenty of wooden galoshes and slippers around, which means that wood can be used to make useful shoes. The thing about woodens is that they always tend to look quite old-fashioned. On the other hand, these wooden shoes don’t look like any I’ve ever seen. You could probably wear these on the grid in TRON and not skip a beat.

A company called Rayfish Footwear claims to bring consumers shoes made out of genetically engineered stingrays. The resulting shoes look very distinctive, but there has been some backlash against the ethics behind such products as well as the claims the company has made.

Remember those awesome kicks from Back to the Future Part II? You know, the ones that laced themselves up automatically? After seeing this DIY hack, it’s impressive that Nike has actually been working on a design for these shoes.
These shoes are going to be released by Nike for the upcoming Chinese New Year, which is going to be in two weeks. They are based upon the Classic Cortez and I have to say that I kind of like them, even though the fake fur is a bit much.
