So the end of the season was approaching pretty fast and to be honest, I sort of stopped playing the seraph tower event a long time ago. I must have played it a lot the first few weeks, but quickly got tired of it.
This season in Destiny 2 has turned into a bounty grind that has led many players to playing fatigue, ie getting bored out of their minds while playing this repetitive BS. I’m no stranger to this, as I took a break during S9 due the grind in S8 (Randy’s, Exit Strategy, etc).
It’s actually become bad enough for Bungie to address the situation in their TWAB. They are planning on changing from a seasonal model to something more akin with how the game was when Forsaken came out. I couldn’t be happier. But will it be enough? The plans are for Y4, and that’s still far away.
This week was Season of the Worthy’s first Iron Banner. It featured the only ritual weapon of the season and some pinnacle bounties all done in the chaos of IB. I spent a lot of time playing, and finishing the quest on all of my 3 characters. I also decided to try to get Revoker since the kills in IB count for double. Revoker is the best in slot kinetic sniper rifle, and most used sniper in Trials of Osiris.
With each new season of Destiny 2 comes a new sandbox, and each comes with slight adjustments. As such, each season has its own meta, a set of weapons that everyone will use when playing PvP. The new season came with a good buff for assault rifles (600-720 rpm). This meant that they would be used a lot more than previously.
I finally reached 1000PL over the weekend. I have to say that the grind was intense, but rewarding with most activities. It wasn’t as bad as grinding for Randy’s, but more than in the last 2 seasons. While many in the community are disappointed in the seasonal content, especially compared to the launch of Shadowkeep. To be honest, I’m not impressed, but I still have a lot of old quests to complete, as I have been playing only for less than a year.
I started playing Destiny 2 again last week and just managed to complete all of the missions that I had to do. It was a close thing. In between server issues, and not being able to matchmake with players good enough to simply run a forge, it was getting tedious. So the end of the season came as a bit of a relief, because there will be more players flocking to the game.
