I went to check up on some prices on Christmas Day and on NYE. It wasn’t really planned out that way, but I had some spare time so I decided to visit a few dealers. It turns out that it was a good thing that I did because I spotted some killer deals on the new 2010 Pinarello Dogma equipped with either SRAM Red, Campagnolo Super Record 11, Dura-Ace 7900, or Di2.
[Update: I’ve contacted my suppliers and now have access to Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 and Di2, Campagnolo Bora wheels, and other goodies. Visit Asterisk*Cycles]
From what I’ve been told, the new Dogma is made here in Taiwan. I’ve been told different things about the finishing of the frame itself. Suffice it to say that the reviews are out and it’s one great frame. The asymmetric design philosophy that went into it is groundbreaking.
In Taiwan, there isn’t much difference in the price of a Prince frame or a Dogma frame. This is good and bad. It’s good for people who want to purchase a 2010 Dogma. It’s bad because the Prince won’t sell as much. I’m sure that the Prince prices will be plunging this year. They haven’t come down yet. Just to note that in the US, the Dogma sells for $5,500 and the Prince sells for $4,500.
I haven’t asked yet about Shimano Di2, but I willยน{done}. But for now, I’ve seen some screaming deals on the 2010 Dogma equipped with either SRAM Red, Campagnolo Super Record 11, Shimano Dura-Ace, or Di2. In my opinion, these are the best deals that you can find on this combination. By my estimate, you’ll save about $1,000 USD on the 2010 Dogma + SRAM Red and $1,200 USD on the 2010 Dogma + Super Record 11.
Since I haven’t been able to find really cheap deals on TIME frames here, though prices are available upon request, I’m really stoked to find these on Pinarello frames. This has convinced me of one thing. I’ll be getting a 2010 Dogma this year with Super Record 11. Why? Well the TIME RXR Ulteam is quite expensive here, as well as the Colnago EPS. These would be my two top choices. Actually, I might order it pretty soon. I’m having a photo shoot with a Dogma arriving in early January 2010. It’s the 464 Black Red Silver model and from the photos that I’ve seen, it looks amazing.
This also means that I’ve got access to a small number of Dogma frames as well as Super Record 11 and SRAM Red for really cheap prices. Bikes come with the seat post and fork, though the Manubrio MOst handlebar, as well as Keo pedals and Sella Italia seats can be added to make a complete bike.
