Life Fill It Up S01E11 (NBC)

Life stars Damian Lewis as Charlie Crews, a police detective who was recently exonerated of a series of murders after having spent 12 years in jail for life.

In this episode, part of the conspiracy is revealed to everyone. Charlie has to decide what to do with it.

The urge to kill the ones responsible is very strong in Charlie, after what they made him live through. Jack Reese is most definitely involved. He is as crooked as they come, but he is too fast for Crews to catch. On top of that, he has had time to plan contingencies if this would ever happen.

Crews finds the killer who did the Siebel killings. He finds out more than he bargained. Meanwhile, his ex-partner Starks and his new partner Reese are chasing for a giant boa constrictor in a grow-up.

I thought this was an excellent way to end the mid season. Since NBC has ordered a full season of Life, I expect that we will learn more about Reese and all of the strange dealings he had with the Bank of LA robbery. I wasn’t sure if Crews was going to kill Hollis. It seemed like he was getting ready to do so. But in the end, he managed to cool down. He did get into hot water at Hollis’ house. He had to escape because Rachel Siebel accused him of having shot her. In the end, she disappeared, so there is no way that he can be charged.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Crews is back in prison to see a pal. He asks him to find Kyle Hollis. Crews found his son’s murderer a while back.

Their next case involves the death of a husband. He came home two hours late and his wife shot him through the door. The apartment is filled with pot plants. His pal calls him through a biker friend. He tells him that Hollis is in Indigo. His name is Reverend Orson Parker. A lot of people are looking for him. He’s got a daughter. They can’t find the gun at the scene. Charlie says that he’s got to deal with something. He leaves and asks Reese to cover for him.

Crews is on his way to deal with the killer Hollis. He takes a clean gun into Hollis’ house. He finds his daughter shot in the belly in Hollis’ house. She says that the guys looking for her dad did this. She says that her father has been gone since yesterday. Crews calls an ambulance. He gets a call from Hollis. He sets up a meeting with Crews at the Bank of LA branch. The daughter realizes that Crews is here to find her dad as well, because he called him Kyle. She tells the cops that Crews shot her. Crews has to escape.

Starks tells Reese that if he lie and backed up Charlie during the trial, he would go to jail as well. Reese finds some mice. She says that it’s meat. Meat for a big snake. Reese realizes that the wife covered the warm gun in meat sauce and fed it to the python.

Crews stops at a light and gives his car away. He buys a used beater. He meets with Hollis. He wants some cash and a plane out of LAX. Crews agrees, but then hits the guy on the way to his car. Hollis says that he has documents and photos. These will disappear if he dies.

He takes Hollis to his orange grove. He takes him back into his trunk and visits Jennifer, his ex-wife.

In the last episode, Earley started to check out Jack Reese’s financial situation. Earley says that a charity received a 4 million dollar check right after the robbery. This donation was most probably given by Jack Reese, because he used to give money to this same charity.

Crews gives Jack Reese a call. He tells Reese that this will be his last day as a free man. This is right before his car gets hit by an SUV. Some guys are looking for the preacher. They aren’t cops. He recognizes one of the guys as the guy who stood next to Ames when he argued with Reese. They are looking for the preacher. They take his gun. Crews uses his backup gun to shoot them.

Crews takes their car and the preacher. Hollis tells Crews that his friend Siebel was laundering money for Reese. Hollis was working for them. He was told to go straighten Siebel out, because he was skimming. Hollis confesses to killing the family. He says that he didn’t set him up. The preacher didn’t see the phone with an open line to Connie behind him. Hollis says that he didn’t have any documents or papers. He says all of this while crews is digging a hole in the ground in the middle of nowhere.

At the apartment, they get the snake. Crews comes by to see Starks and Reese. He tells them that he needs them to do something for him. He wanted them to arrest Hollis. At the same time, Crews is meeting with Reese on top of the same building that he was in back in 1991.

Reese tells Crews that he has Rachel Siebel. She was the preacher’s daughter. Crews checks the hospital. The girl is no longer in the hospital. Crews goes back to the house and finds it empty.
