White Collar Prisoner’s Dilemma S02E07 (USA)

The pilot episode of White Collar was most definitely slick and smart, as well as charming, as Matt Bormer will charm the pants off anyone he meets as his suave alter ego Neal Caffrey.

This show most definitely fits in the USA Network’s slew of shows, which include Burn Notice and Royal Pains. It has good pacing and interesting chemistry between Matt Bormer and Tim DeKay, something that isn’t easy to fake. They work well on the screen, there is no denying this.

Basically, Dekay’s Burke is a white collar specialist who put Bormer’s Caffrey away a few years ago. In order to reduce his sentence a bit further, after having escaped a super max jail, Caffrey offers to help Burke to catch the illusive Dutchman, a criminal that Burke has also been chasing for a few years. This setup kind of reminds me of Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can as well as The Sting with Redford and Newman.

What’s also interesting, is that the guys don’t just keep this professional. They also involve their personal lives. Burke needs help to make his hot wife Elizabeth, played by Tiffani Thiessen, happy while Caffrey is searching for his wife that just vanished. All in all, a great show with good actors. I recommend it.

Peter wants to spend more time with his wife. They are both very busy.

Peter meets up with Neal. They are at the office at 8AM. Bancroft, the boss’ boss, is there. The US Marshals are here. They are searching for an FBI agent named Franklin. The Marshals aren’t very cooperative. The Marshals caught him trying to access their WitSec database.

They go see Rebecca Vidal. She was Franklin’s CI. She was a car thief. Now she sells luxury cars. Peter tests out a Ferrari F430 Spider with Rebecca. Neal sells a Lamborghini Gallardo Spider to get into Rebecca’s computer.

The case that Franklin was working on before he got transferred out of White Collar involved Decker, the US Marshal.

Franklin comes to see Burke at his place. He says that a witness was killed. The only others who knew about this were the Marshals. Volker is a lawyer involved in this. Yesterday, he was casing Volker’s place with Rebecca. Decker is selling witness information. The evidence is in Volker’s office.

They find Decker destroying evidence. They escape from him. They are trying to hotwire a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Spider. Neal and Jones track them using the car’s GPS. Neal has to disable this so that they can evade the Marshals.

Neal briefs Bancroft at the FBI to explain why Burke fled. Moz hides the two fugitives in one of his safehouses. Moz also knows Volker. He’s a crooked attorney.

Peter sends Moz to send a message to Liz. They follow Moz. Moz goes to see Rebecca. Diana is there. Bancroft is on the phone with Peter. Peter is giving directions to Neal. Rebecca tells Volker that his Lambo was taken on a joyride. It’s been totalled. They make Decker think that Volker is signing a confession implicating him. Decker pulls his gun. Peter arrives with backup. They arrest Decker and Volker.

Franklin is cleared of all charges.

Moz tells Neal that Kate called Fowler before she died.

Bancroft takes Neal to the exhibit he wanted to see.
